A US tablespoon holds 14.79ml, giving 14.2g of butter. A UK/metric tablespoon is 15ml — giving 14.4g, nearly identical. But an Australian tablespoon is 20ml, giving 19.2g of butter — 35% more than the US version. Solid butter at room temperature has a density of approximately 0.959 g/ml. Melted butter is slightly denser — around 0.91–0.95 g/ml — because air pockets in solid butter disappear when it liquefies.
